Due to the cancellation of the original date due to the 60mph gales and heavy rainfall, we are now offering too new separate dates to come and enjoy these fields – Sunday 13th October or Sunday 27th October 2024. Same location (maybe different fields, depends on numbers attending). We will still be offering Cash on the Day, but this is at the higher price and you will still need to confirm your place beforehand by email.
There are 300+ acres available, but the amount of land released by the Landowner will be entirely dependent on the amount of people attending the event.
On-site parking is available and full details of the location etc will be emailed to everyone who has purchased their entrance ticket.
Pricing for Tickets is £18 for Adults (over 16) and £5 for Juniors (10-16). We are also offering Cash on the Day tickets for £22 per person (you don’t need to be a Member to just turn up, but you won’t receive the benefits associated with our Full Membership), but you do need to inform us by email that you intend to come and pay by cash (with the exact money please) to receive the exact location details etc.
The fields available are a mix of arable and pasture. There has been a small amount of previous detecting some years ago, but we have assurances that the majority of land available to us are undetected, and there is known history in the immediate vicinity.
There are 84 recorded Medieval & Civil War sites within a 10km radius. There are Bronze Age Round & Bowl Barrows within 4km and a Bronze Palstave was found close by. A Roman burial site is less than 2km away. An Iron Age Greek coin has been recorded in Loddiswell, and an Iron Age settlement is nearby. There are nine Iron Age Hillforts within 8km. A fortified Medieval House is also close. Alintone (East Allington) is mentioned in the Domesday Book. So plenty going on nearby.
